Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused West Bengal Chief Minister on Thursday Mamata Banerjeethe Trinamool Congress and opposition parties are “protecting the intruders.”

Besides the Trinamool, the Prime Minister also accused the Congress, DMK, Left parties of “lining their own pockets” while in power. (PTI)Speaking in the Rajya Sabha during the motion of thanks to the President’s address, the Prime Minister also attacked Mamata Banerjee for pressuring the court to “save the intruders”.

Modi’s comments came in the context of Banerjee’s hearing SIR exercise in Bengal in Supreme Court.

“Our colleagues from the TMC have spoken a lot… they should introspect… a ruthless government that is creating new records of decline, and they are advising here. Such a ruthless government is pushing the future of the people into darkness,” Modi said in his Rajya Sabha address.

“They only care about power… Even the most prosperous countries are driving away illegal immigrants. In our country, courts are being pressured to save immigrants,” he added.

“Congress, TMC, DMK, Left, they have been in power for decades at the Center and in the states too and they have run the government. Today we proudly talk about pacts, earlier when ‘pacts’ were talked about, it was Bofors pact. They only filled their own pockets, changing people’s lives was not their priority,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister also took a poetic swipe at the opposition and said, “Tum kitna duniya ko dhoka doge, ayna dikha liya toh aap sachchai kaha chhipaoge (How much you fool the world…how you hide your truth).
