The sole surviving member of a Gurugram family, who was killed in the fire that broke out at the Hauz Rani B&B in Delhi, died on Tuesday. Eight family members moved into the B&B to care for seriously ill Radhe Shyam Agarwal, 77, who was admitted to the intensive care unit at a nearby hospital, after they were told he was in a bad condition.

Agarwal’s relatives said Radhe Shyam Agarwal was hospitalized for 10 days. His son, chartered accountant, Vivek Agarwal, his wife, Tarjani Agarwal, their two daughters, mother Prem Lata Agarwal, and three other relatives died in the June 3 fire.
Naresh Gupta, Vivek Agarwal’s uncle and neighbor in Gurugram’s Sector 46, said the 77-year-old died around 11.30 am on Tuesday. “The body is expected to reach their residence within an hour. After that, we will take him to the same cremation ground in Sector 32 where his son, two granddaughters, wife and daughter-in-law were cremated on June 4,” he said.
Gupta said Vivek Agarwal’s cousins, who live in Delhi, were taking care of Brady Shyam Agarwal after no one was left to take care of him at the hospital. “In Vivek’s house, a few close family members are currently living. They will soon leave by locking it indefinitely once all the last rites for the entire family are completed.”
The fire killed 21 people and injured 21 others. It started in the kitchen of a restaurant on the ground floor of the B&B.
