A man reportedly died of a heart attack while attending the victory rally of the Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam Pradhan in Salem, Tamil Nadu, on Friday, ANI reported.

Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) Pradhan Vijay (ANI)”A 37-year-old man from Maharashtra died after suffering a heart attack during a political meeting held in Salem today. The deceased has been identified as Suraj (37), a resident of Maharashtra,” Salem police officials told news agency ANI.

“He lived in Sevvaipettai area of ​​Salem, where he was engaged in silver related labour. He was married and is survived by his wife and a child. According to sources, he attended the TVK public meeting organized for party administrators as a spectator. During the event, he suddenly collapsed. The police were informed of a heart attack, but he was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Further investigation into the incident is on,” they added.
