Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah alleged that a BJP official had contacted a National Conference member, who offered him… $Rs 20-30 crore and a ministerial berth to switch sides and join the party.

Abdullah said that the Moroccan army rejected the offer and informed him of this step.
“We will provide $20 to 30 crores, one ministry, one state. You walk with us. Do they think these people’s faith is that cheap?” Abdullah asserted while addressing the crowd.

He also accused the BJP of trying to come to power through the “back door”.
“BJP people, don’t consider us so weak. There will be no back door entry for you. You will not come to the front seat from the back door. Right now, people have kept you back, and you will stay back,” he said.
NC will hold a protest against statehood of Jammu and Kashmir on July 20
The National Conference will hold a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on July 20, demanding restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Abdullah said that no permission had been granted yet to organize the protest, but that would not prevent his party from organizing the sit-in.
CM Abdullah said: “We are still in the process of trying to get this permission. It did not even take 24 hours for the cockroach group to get permission, while we have been going on for four or five days. Some people are intent on sabotaging our programme; they have changed their schedules to coincide with ours.”
Abdullah also appealed to other parties to unite and put aside electoral battles to fight for the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir. He added that he was wrongly accused of not “consulting with others.”
He added, “Our program for July 20 continues. We are accused of not consulting with others, but this is not the issue of the National Conference alone. It concerns everyone, whether they belong to political parties or not. All legislators, past and present, have been invited, because the struggle to establish the state is for everyone.”
Abdullah added, “I appeal to all leaders to forget the electoral battle for the next three years and join hands in the struggle to establish the state. If they turn away due to fear or coercion, they will betray the people.”
