Lam began his visit by flying to Bihar and offering prayers at the Mahabodhi Temple on Tuesday. He is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.

The Indian side also sent indigenously developed military equipment to Vietnam, including the BrahMos cruise missile system that has already been sold to the Philippines. Reports said that a potential deal with Vietnam on hypersonic missiles could be worth about $630 million.
