Social activist Anna Hazare on Tuesday said that the court’s decision to remove former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal in the tax policy case should be respected, asserting that the country is functioning smoothly due to the strength of its judiciary.

Anna Hazare said: “Our country depends on the strength of its judicial and security systems. Despite being a large nation with diverse parties, sects, religions and communities, it functions smoothly thanks to the judiciary. Without it, there would be chaos and unrest. Now that the court has delivered its ruling stating that Arvind Kejriwal is not wrong, it must be accepted.”
The court has released Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and 21 others in the politically sensitive tax policy case, observing that the CBI had failed to prove any “comprehensive conspiracy or criminal intent” behind the policy.
Among those acquitted in the case was Telangana President Jagruthi K Kavitha, who also received relief.

Kejriwal on clean chit
Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal broke down in tears on Friday while speaking to the media after receiving a huge relief in the Delhi tax policy case.
“I am not corrupt. The court said that Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia are katar immandar (completely honest),” the AAP’s national delegate said.
We are “honest”: Manish Sisodia
Reacting to the matter, Sisodia said the ruling reaffirmed public confidence in the Constitution.
“Despite all attempts by the BJP and its agencies to prove us dishonest, today Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia have been proven to be honest,” the former Delhi education minister said in a post on X.
Aam Aadmi Party leaders said the ruling vindicates the party’s long-standing position that the case lacks merit. Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh alleged that the case was part of a wider conspiracy to discredit the party leadership and referred to the time several leaders spent in jail.
Saurabh Bharadwaj said that although the BJP is in power in several states, it has chosen to target the “small government of Delhi”. “Honest people are being defamed day and night through false cases,” he alleged, adding that the CBI, ACB and the police acted on what he described as a false complaint.
