Notably, Khan is among eight people named in the case linked to alleged sexual harassment and religious coercion at Nashik BPO. Seven accused had already been arrested earlier, while Khan has managed to avoid arrest so far. All eight employees were suspended.

What is the case against her?

Earlier this week, the court rejected Nida Khan’s anticipatory bail plea. Investigating agencies opposed her request for relief, saying they had found key leads in the matter and her interrogation was necessary for the investigation.

In one of the complaints filed at Devlali police station, a woman accused Khan of hurting her religious sentiments.

The complainant also accused her co-worker Danish Sheikh of sexually exploiting her in exchange for the promise of marriage. Another accused, Tauseef Al-Attar, was named in the sexual harassment allegations, as mentioned in a previous Hizb ut-Tahrir report.

During the court proceedings, the prosecution said the complainant claimed that Khan changed her name to “Haniya” and guaranteed her a job in Malaysia. She further claimed that Khan repeatedly encouraged the complainant to change her religion.

The prosecution also told the court that Khan had warned the complainant that refusing to convert would bring misfortune to her family.

According to the Special Investigation Team, Khan allegedly taught the complainant how to perform prayers and wear the hijab at her home. The court also said that it had installed Islamic applications on the complainant’s phone.

The SIT also alleged that Khan shared religious material with the complainant after installing the apps on her mobile phone.

What we know about Nida Khan

Earlier, Nida’s father said that she resides in Mumbai. He also said that she is pregnant and expecting her first child.

Nida got married last year and later moved to Mumbai to live with her husband.

Her family also said that, contrary to reports circulating on television and social media, Khan was not an employee of the BPO’s human resources department. Instead, they said she worked as a telephone caller on the sales team, according to the report.
