A 27-year-old software engineer, who was in Mussoorie on vacation with her husband, was found dead in her room in a house on Mussoorie-Dhanaulti Road on Monday morning, police said.

The woman was identified by police as B Radha Gayatri, a resident of Shakarpur in east Delhi. I worked with an IT company in Gurugram. Her husband, Soumya Sricharan, worked in a company in Pune, and they married in November 2025.
The couple was in Mussoorie on vacation and reached the residence late on June 14, police said. They had departed from Delhi to Rishikesh on June 13.
They entered a house in Kiana Tipridhar area at 11.30pm on June 14. Police said the two consumed alcoholic beverages in their room before sleeping at around 3.30 am, said Devendra Singh Chauhan, inspector-in-charge of Mussoorie police station.
Chauhan said police received information about a woman in critical condition at the house on Monday morning.
A police team rushed to the residence. “But when the medical team examined the woman, she was declared dead on arrival,” Chauhan said.
Police said the husband told them his wife was unresponsive when he woke up in the morning. He also noticed blood oozing from her mouth and immediately raised the alarm.
Police said there were bloodstains in the room, but did not provide details.
A forensic team examined the scene and collected evidence.
Chauhan said that the husband’s family had arrived. But they were waiting for the woman’s parents, who were on their way to Mussoorie, before sending her body for autopsy.
He added: “The room has been thoroughly examined and forensic evidence has been collected. We are investigating all aspects of the case and the exact cause of death will only be known after the autopsy report and forensic analysis.”
