The Prime Minister also expressed confidence that the joint endeavors of India-Nepal relations “will rise to new heights in the coming years,” he added.
Shah’s election victory marks a shift in Nepal’s politics away from the old traditional parties. It also reflected its population’s frustration with issues such as political instability, corruption and youth unemployment.
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chief Rabi Lamichhane had earlier said that he looked forward to strengthening Nepal-India relations through “development diplomacy” and also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his wishes.
