Both Gupta and Bansal scored 715 out of 720 marks in the exam.

However, 58 percent of those eligible were women. The qualification rate was 56.8 percent for women and 55.1 percent for men.

19 candidates scored above 700 in the exam. 138 candidates scored above 690, with 93 per cent appearing for the first time in the exam, and 99 per cent of them aged between 17 and 19 years. 1,492 candidates scored 650 and above.

Unlike last year’s press releases on NEET-UG results, this time NTA did not provide the exact number of candidates who appeared in the exam and their gender distribution. It also does not have the usual top list containing the names of the top 20 students and the highest social group. “Separate top lists are provided for each category in the accompanying top caps document,” the NTA said in its press release, which did not have a top list. A spokesman for the union Ministry of Education said the list would be released “soon.”
