The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the final answer key for the NEET UG 2026 exam late on Thursday, making two major revisions in the physics section of the paper. The re-test results for NEET-UG 2026 are also likely to be announced tonight, union education ministry officials said.
Regarding the two errors, one question was dropped completely, while another question was reviewed after it was found to contain more than one correct answer, according to the final answer keys for the June 21 question paper.
One disputed question concerned a Vernier caliper problem which asked candidates to determine the length of the wire based on the reading of the device. After reviewing the objections, the NTA decided to delete the question from the final answer key.
The second review concerns a question about electromagnetic waves. The agency found that both options 3 and 4 were correct, rather than a single correct answer as originally indicated.
As a result, NTA will award a total of 8 marks – 4 each for dropped and multiple answer questions – to all candidates who appeared in the examination. NTA earlier this week released the provisional answer key and response sheet.
Candidates who appeared for the National Eligibility Entrance Test can now download the final answer key from the official portal.

• When you open the website, the link “NEET (UG) Final Answer Keys – Re-examination 2026” can be found under News & Events.
• The document containing the final answers will open when you click on the link.
• Candidates can then download the document.
More than 2 million medical aspirants appeared for the NEET-UG 2026 retake on June 21 after taking the original exam on May 3. The NTA announced the re-examination on May 15 after receiving an email on May 8 alleging a leak and noting an overlap between the rolling guess sheet and the May 3 question paper. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is investigating the alleged leak, has arrested 13 people so far and will file its chargesheet this month.
