Two months after being expelled from the Punjab Congress, Navjot Kaur Sidhu, a former MLA, has announced the launch of a new political party – Bharatiya Rashtrawadi Party.

Kaur, wife of former cricketer and former Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu, made the announcement on microblogging site X late on Monday night.
The Punjab Congress had suspended Kaur for raising a political dispute with her. $Rs 500 crore for the Prime Minister’s chair.”
She was later expelled from the party after repeatedly criticizing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Waring.
In a post on X on Monday evening, Kaur called her move a “long-awaited announcement.”
She shared a picture of herself with another person with the party logo – Bharatiya Rashtrawadi Party – in the background.
“The long-awaited announcement: We have worked on a new alternative at the national level after carefully monitoring and reviewing the current performance standards of political leaders,” Kaur’s post read.
“We just want to devote our lives to our country, and give back to the people what they truly deserve and expect from us. Divine intervention, which has brought together some like-minded individuals who have the ability, confidence, courage and determination to work in every state with the common goal of providing justice and peace, and through love to work with the energy of higher consciousness and deliver what Waheguru Ji wants from us,” she wrote.
Kaur also said that she would lead Punjab to achieve its long-lost glory of being a golden state, “where people know only the power of love, sharing, justice, right to freedom, work with the aim of selfless service and spiritual growth to achieve their purpose, values and vision without any outside interference.”
Kaur was elected MLA from Amritsar East in 2012 on a BJP ticket and also served as Principal Parliamentary Secretary (Health).
She joined Congress with her husband before the 2017 Assembly elections.
Kaur was attacking Punjab Congress chief Waring, accusing him of “harming” the unity of the state and calling him “the most terrible, incapable and corrupt president ever.”
She also launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
On February 6, Congress general secretary in charge of Punjab, Bhupesh Baghel, announced that Kaur had been expelled from the party.
