'Namo Bharat' rapid rail corridor will transform Delhi's pace: CM GuptaPrime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the entire 82 km Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor to the nation, inaugurating the remaining two sections of India’s first Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS).The stretches inaugurated include a 5-km section between Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar in Delhi and a 21-km section between Meerut South and Modipuram in Uttar Pradesh. The Prime Minister emphasized that in view of Delhi’s increasing population pressure and mobility challenges, the project will make a significant contribution to the overall development of the city. The corridor will help commuters save time and resources, marking a historic milestone for Delhi and the surrounding region, Gupta said in a statement. The corridor, which runs from the national capital Delhi to Meerut, will provide fast and reliable connectivity to hundreds of thousands of passengers daily. She added that in addition, the project is expected to contribute to alleviating traffic congestion and reducing carbon emissions by reducing the number of private vehicles on the roads, thus creating a positive environmental impact.

Describing the project’s success as a prime example of the country’s infrastructural progress, Gupta said it will stimulate economic activity in the Delhi-NCR, boost employment opportunities and accelerate balanced regional development.Expressing her deep gratitude to the Prime Minister on behalf of Delhi, she said the initiative is a “priceless gift” to the people of the city and will serve as a transformative foundational step for generations to come.
