Rahul Gandhi had a hilarious moment on X (formerly Twitter) where he had a banter with a mutual fund dealer who shared a rather long post about how the Congress leader worked with him professionally despite knowing his support for the BJP.

“We have exchanged numerous emails and spoken on phone many times. As you know, I have been a staunch supporter of Modi from 2014 to 2024. Rahul or his office staff have never directed this topic to me. I believe his staff regularly sees my tweets. They make a clear distinction between my professional service and my political beliefs. In every conversation I had with Rahul, he addressed me with respect and never behaved in any arrogant manner,” he said. Long post on X.

“I don’t know Rahul Gandhi as a politician. Based on the interaction over the last 14 years, all I can say is that he has great respect for professionals and is a nice human being to interact with.

Rahul kept his response to Dhandapani’s long praise brief but quirky. “Muthu ji, your political views are your own, but please accelerate the returns on my investments,” he wrote.

Rahul’s response to the post surprised Dhandapani, who commented on X’s post saying, “I was surprised by your response.”

“I never expected him to look at my tweet and respond. First time,” he wrote in the next post.

Rahul Gandhi was in Chennai on Sunday where he stood alongside TVK chief Vijay as he took charge as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The Congress played a crucial role in ensuring that TVK formed a government in the state by extending support to the five MLAs. Small parties like CPI, CPI(M), VCK and IUML followed the outfit and extended support to the Vijay-led party.
