Reacting to the incident, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, accused the authorities of gross negligence.

In a post in Hindi on X, Gandhi said, “The epidemic of greed and negligence plaguing India claimed another young life today. A boy, a dream, his parents’ whole world — shattered in an instant.”

Terming the incident as murder, he further said, “It is not an accident, it is murder. It is the murdering government that runs away from accountability. The real culprit is not the road, but the irresponsible authorities. Because there is no resignation, no punishment and no conscience awakened,” said the opposition leader.

Referring to other incidents, Gandhi said, “Indore’s poisoned water, Noida’s roads that took the life of Yuvraj, collapsing bridges, train collisions, suffocating pollution…. #TINA. No accountability. Until there is accountability, one will continue to suffer from the epidemic of greed.”

Kejriwal on Delhi biker’s deathFormer Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal also condemned the BJP-led central government, calling the tragedy “a murder, not an accident” due to “gross negligence”.

In a post on X, Kejriwal wrote, “This is not an accident, but murder. BJP has learned nothing even from Noida incident. Gross negligence and total irresponsibility is now the hallmark of the BJP government, and the common man is paying the price. May God give strength to the family who lost their child due to the government’s addiction.”

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi president Sourav Bharadwaj also criticized the government.

“An innocent biker fell into a deep pothole on the road, got stuck, lay there overnight, and died. Delhi’s BJP government has learned nothing from the Noida incident. They continue to lie every day. Janakpuri District Center, Delhi,” he wrote on X.

Congress leader Supriya Sreena also took on X, “Kamal, a resident of Delhi, was returning home from office, he encountered a big pothole on the way. Kamal died along with his bike by falling into the pothole. The pothole was dug by the Delhi Jal Board, but they did not cover it, nor did they put any BJP warboard. Double engine government, is it death or murder, you say,” she wrote on X.

Government and BJP’s reaction to biker’s death in JanakpuriReacting to the incident, Delhi Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood said that the Delhi government has ordered an investigation. Speaking to ANI, he expressed condolences to the family and said that action would be taken against those responsible.

“It is an unfortunate incident. I stand with the family of the deceased in this time of grief. I want to assure the family that I visited the spot for two hours, and I saw that all security arrangements were in place. Still, I have directed the water board to form a committee and start investigating the matter. There will be no accused, all of us will take responsibility including the government… Help is being provided… We cannot bring back the victim, but we can try to ensure that such incidents do not recur…” he said. said

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said the investigation is still going on.

“Investigation is still going on and we are yet to get complete information. It is a very unfortunate incident … these open holes are the legacy of the opposition. Work is on to fix them, but it will take some time to get things back on track,” he said.

According to Delhi Police, around 8 am, a woman called the police control room to report that a person was lying in a hole about 15 feet deep and was not moving.

“A police team immediately rushed to the spot. The Delhi Jal Board dug a pit, where Kamal Dhayani unfortunately fell and died,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Darade Sharad Bhaskar.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the pit was part of the Delhi Jal Board construction site and was barricaded, a senior police officer said.
