Monsoon in India: The India Meteorological Department has issued multiple weather alerts, warning of more rain in several states in the coming days.

The southwest monsoon arrived in Delhi on Thursday morning, bringing rainfall and easing humid and hot conditions. However, heavy rains also caused landslides, floods and disturbances in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Arunachal Pradesh.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued multiple weather alerts, warning of more rain in several states in the coming days.

1. Delhi receives rain: The monsoon arrived in Delhi on Thursday morning, bringing much-needed rain to the capital. IMD forecast rain with overcast skies in Delhi on July 2.
2. Monsoon in Uttarakhand: The southwest monsoon spread across Uttarakhand on Wednesday. The Meteorological Department issued an orange alert for Thursday, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated locations in five districts, including Dehradun.
3. Monsoon completes its advance over Himachal Pradesh: The southwest monsoon also covered the entire state of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday. The Meteorological Department warned of heavy rain over the next seven days, advising residents and tourists to remain alert due to the possibility of landslides, flash floods, waterlogging and traffic disruption.

4. Lightning kills two people in Uttar Pradesh: Two people died and eight others, including four children, sustained burn injuries after lightning struck separate locations in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur district on Wednesday, officials were quoted as saying by PTI.
5. High number of monsoon casualties in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka: Heavy monsoon rains killed seven people in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka on Wednesday. Landslides, floods on roads, and disruption of transportation affected normal life in many areas.
6. Heavy rains disrupt life in Mumbai: Mumbai, Thane and Palghar witnessed the second consecutive day of heavy rain. Many low-lying areas witnessed waterlogging, while road traffic and suburban train services were disrupted after the eastern and western suburbs recorded between 90mm and 99mm of rain.

The BMC on Thursday warned of heavy to very heavy rain across Mumbai and its suburbs, with very heavy rain likely during the night and into Friday morning.
7. Delhi is likely to receive monsoon in two days: The southwest monsoon is expected to reach Delhi in the next two days, the IMD said. His arrival will end a long wait and marks the latest attack on the national capital in five years.
8. Rain in Rajasthan: Multiple parts of Rajasthan, including Jaipur, are likely to receive moderate to heavy rains this week amid favorable conditions for further advance of the southwest monsoon, the IMD said.
9. Rain brings relief to Punjab and Haryana: Rainfall in several districts of Punjab and Haryana brought relief to the sweltering heat on Wednesday. Rains were reported in Mohali, Kharar, Pathankot, Patiala and Hoshiarpur in Punjab, while Ambala, Yamunanagar, Sonipat, Hisar, Rohtak, Karnal and Chandigarh also received rain.
10. Flood in Arunachal Pradesh: Floods and heavy rain continued to impact Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday. Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju and Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited flood-affected areas in East Siang district as the state remained affected by heavy rains, flash floods and landslides.
