Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the Seva Tirtha Complex, the new building housing the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat.

The walls of the Seva Tirtha adorn the motto ‘Nagrik Devo Bhava’ (Citizen like God).
Earlier, the Prime Minister’s office and two secretariats were in different places.

Significance of February 13 as Inauguration DateSeva Tirtha was inaugurated by PM Modi on February 13 as the date carries historical significance. This marks the city’s 95th anniversary New Delhi Being officially inaugurated as the capital of India on February 13, 1931. Apart from Seva Tirtha, PM Modi also inaugurated Dutta Bhavan 1 and 2, which will house several important ministries.

Kartavya Bhawan 1 and 2 are equipped with several key features including digitally integrated offices, structured public interface zones and centralized reception facilities. The buildings are designed to 4-star GRIHA standards and incorporate renewable energy systems, water conservation systems, waste management solutions and high-performance building envelopes, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
“These measures significantly reduce environmental impact while increasing operational efficiency. The building complexes include comprehensive safety and security frameworks, such as smart access control systems, surveillance networks and advanced emergency response infrastructure, ensuring a safe and accessible environment for officials and visitors,” the statement added.

His first decisions from Seva Tirtha related to women, youth and weaker citizens.
This included sanctioning the launch of a PM RAHAT scheme. Under this initiative, accident victims will get cashless treatment ₹1.5 lakh, to ensure that no lives are lost due to lack of immediate medical assistance, officials said.
Also, there was a big decision for Lakhpati Didi, a women’s self-help booster scheme. The government has crossed the 3 crore lakhpati Didi landmark more than a year ahead of the original March 2027 timeline, officials noted. “The Prime Minister has now set a new, ambitious target of 6 crore lakhpati Didis by March 2029, doubling both the scale and the aspiration,” an official said.
Also, in a move aimed at strengthening the agricultural value chain, the Prime Minister approved doubling the expenditure on the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund. ₹1 lakh crore from Tk ₹2 lakh crore rupees.
For the innovation ecosystem, particularly in deep technology, early-stage ideas, advanced manufacturing and breakthrough technologies, the Prime Minister approved the Startup India FoF 2.0 with a corpus ₹10,000 crores.
