Prime Minister Narendra Modi will navigate the country during the alleged LPG shortage crisis in the same way he did during the Covid pandemic, BJP MP Kangana Ranaut said on Thursday.

Ranaut criticized the opposition for protesting against the LPG cylinder crisis and praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, highlighting the progress made by India amid global uncertainty.
“The whole world is seeing the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Everywhere in the world, inflation is rising, but in our country, new projects are being launched every day. Full assurances have been given regarding the LPG situation, but they (the Opposition) are doing this (protest) to create panic and mislead the public. The public should keep their faith in PM Modi, who will lead in the same way he did during the Covid pandemic,” he said.
Led by Lok Sabha leader Rahul Gandhi, Congress leaders continued their protests at Parliament House over reports of nationwide shortage of LPG cylinders on Thursday.
Leaders of the India bloc sought a discussion on the reported shortage of LPG amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
The LPG shortage crisis has also hit many parts of the country.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Thursday urged discussion of reports on LPG shortage in Parliament, stressing that Parliament is a platform to reassure the public and hold discussions on such important matters.
“Such issues should be discussed in Parliament. The government should be informed. You know how long the queues are in front of LPG cylinders… Some restaurants said they don’t have gas to cook food, they can serve tea, but not dosa. Is this the situation in the country now? You know prices have gone up. This is a platform to bring all this to the public. All we want is discussion and the government giving assurances to the public. They cannot simply run the government according to their own interests,” he said.
The LPG shortage crisis has also hit many parts of the country. Restaurants have turned to induction cooking to keep things going in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal due to the global impact of military escalation in the Middle East, as Iran continues to disrupt shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
People in Bhopal were seen waiting in long queues outside the gas agency to get LPG cylinders and refuel their two-wheelers.
