The incident was first brought to light by a passerby who noticed a hand extending from a small hole in the drain, officials told news agency PTI. After being taken out, the man told fire brigade personnel that he had been trapped there for the past few days by a magician.
A fire force official said: “There is something suspicious and mysterious about how he got inside the drain. There is no hole or open board close to where he could have entered or fallen. Also, he was wearing only trousers.” “He claims that one of the sorcerers forced him into it by magic.”

Once officials were informed of the problem, a hydraulic machine was used to pull out one of the panels covering the drain. The victim was then removed with the support of individuals.
