A 19-year-old student was allegedly beaten, had her head smashed against a wall and attempted to burn her genitals after her live-in partner poured disinfectant in a horrific case of assault. The entire alleged crime took place in an apartment in Gurugram under Badshahpur police station area, where the woman, originally from Tripura, and the man, from Narela in Delhi, were living together.
The woman is currently undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi and an FIR has been lodged against the accused, identified as Shivam, in Gurugram under Sections 115, 118 (1), 118 (2), 127 (2), 69 and 351 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyai Sanhita on Thursday night, February 19.
News agency ANI reported that the accused tried to set fire to the woman’s reproductive organs after pouring the disinfectant and even filmed a video clip during the heinous act.

They met online before the repeated assaults began
The woman who is originally from Tripura and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree. He was living in a PG residence in Sector 69 in Gurugram when he contacted the accused, who is from Delhi, through an app in September last year before they both started meeting, according to the FIR.
Thereafter, the accused allegedly had physical relations with the woman on the pretext of marriage before they both started living together in Gurugram and her ordeal began. The man allegedly physically assaulted her over suspicion, according to the FIR.

The head hit the wall, and his private parts were set on fire
Earlier this week, on Monday, February 16, the woman faced an extremely brutal assault at the hands of her boyfriend, which not only left her hospitalized, but also so seriously injured that she was declared unable to give a statement.
Detailing her ordeal, the woman shared in her statement that she was severely beaten on Monday by the accused who allegedly attacked her head with a steel bottle and also hit her head against the wall, the ANI report said.

The man also hit her head with a clay pot before trying to set her genitals on fire after pouring disinfectant on her.
The heinous crime did not end there. The man allegedly attacked her legs with a knife as well before threatening to beat her so badly that she would not be able to walk or become a mother, the woman alleged, adding that he also recorded explicit videos of her.
Only two days later, on February 18, the woman was able to contact her mother using the accused’s phone and tell her what had happened. She spoke to her mother in the local language so that the accused did not understand what she was saying, after which the mother informed the police and the woman was taken to the hospital.
The woman was first taken to Sector 10 Government Hospital in Gurugram, where she was declared incompetent to issue a statement, after which she was referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi where doctors deemed her fit to give evidence to the police.
