Meanwhile, in the ongoing LPG crisis, which has led to mass closure of restaurants and hotels across Kerala, migrant workers are returning to their native places, as Ramadan approaches and elections are scheduled in West Bengal and Assam, news agency PTI reported.

Amid the crisis, authorities across the country confiscated hundreds of LPG cylinders from black market sellers. In Mumbai, the Food Distribution Department has taken strict action against a gang involved in black marketing of domestic and commercial gas cylinders in Worli area.

During the operation, the devices seized 64 filled cylinders weighing 4 kg and 19 filled cylinders weighing 12 kg belonging to Super Gas, in addition to 6 full cylinders weighing 4 kg and 58 empty cylinders weighing 5 kg belonging to HP Gas. 25 empty cylinders of different sizes (12 kg, 4 kg, 2 kg) were seized.
In Chhattisgarh, authorities seized 741 LPG cylinders from 102 locations across the state.
