“Let them impose president’s rule if they want. Let them oust me if they want,” she said in a closed-door meeting with newly elected MLAs and senior leaders at her residence in Kalighat on Wednesday, according to news agency PTI.
“Let this day continue to be recorded as a black day,” Banerjee told party workers.
The meeting was attended by the National Secretary-General of the Transitional Military Council Abhishek Banerjee and other senior leaders have focused on the party’s strategy following its electoral defeat since coming to power in 2011. The leaders said Banerjee claimed that the BJP “looted” the elections and indicated that the party would move the Supreme Court over alleged irregularities during vote counting.

The Transitional Military Council announced the formation of a disciplinary committee amid concerns about internal dissent in the wake of the defeat. Party leaders said that all organizational decisions will be taken by Banerjee.
