The Congress on Saturday took shots at the Center over the online leak of actor-politician Vijay starring in the political thriller ‘Jana Nayagan’.

Congress MP Manickam Tagore alleged that the Center was trying to threaten the entire film industry in one fell swoop about what would happen if anyone moved against it.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Tagore said that the online leak of the film has shaken the entire Indian film industry.
“Once a film is made, if you ask who has a copy of the film, it will be with the producer. It will not be with the actors and actresses. To show the film to the censor board for certification, the technicians will take another copy to show it. So there will be two copies. If they made a copy at the censorship place, they might have taken another copy there. But except for these two places, there will be no place,” he claimed.
He claimed that the Film Certification Board of Control is “controlled” by the central government and said that the film’s producer would not leak the film. “But the version taken from the oversight board is in the hands of the central government.” He said.
He added: “Through this incident, the Center is trying to threaten the entire film industry in one fell swoop about what will happen if anyone moves against it.”
Meanwhile, former Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai said that accusing the Center of being behind the incident over the film leak was “inappropriate” and demanded a proper investigation into the incident.
“Accusing the Center of being behind this incident is inappropriate. While shooting a film, a lot of money is spent, and it is not just the hard work, blood and sweat of many people. We are saddened that such an incident occurred,” he told reporters in Coimbatore.
He demanded that a detailed investigation be opened into the incident, that those involved be held accountable, and that strict measures be taken against them.
