The Kerala government on Tuesday announced the allocation of portfolios in the new government, with Chief Minister V D Sathisan retaining charge of 35 departments, including finance, law, public administration and ports, according to a notification issued by the Kerala Lok Bhavan.

The Prime Minister will also oversee several key administrative and policy departments, enhancing important decision-making powers within the Prime Minister’s Office.

Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has been given charge of the crucial interior and vigilance districts. Lok Bhavan in Kerala said he would also take charge of three other departments in the new government.

The allocation of the portfolio comes days after the new government in the state was sworn in. More details on the distribution of the remaining departments among government ministers are expected to be published soon.
