As the LDF seeks to win a third consecutive term in office, which will be its first in Kerala, polls have seen the BJP intensifying its efforts to expand its presence in the state. Kerala has traditionally seen governments alternating between the LDF and UDF, a four-decade pattern that the latter broke in 2021.

The Election Commission of India has set a specific period of time during which voter poll results cannot be published. Carrying or publishing exit polls is prohibited from 7am on 9 April 2026 until 6.30pm on 29 April 2026.

How accurate are the polls in 2021?

The CPI(Maoist)-led United Democratic Front broke the pattern of alternating governments in the previous Assembly elections, with this shift widely measured by pollsters in 2021.

Kerala exit polls in 2021 have predicted around 100 seats for the CPI(M) led by LDF, with different ranges given by each poll. Axis My India predicted 104-120 seats for LDF and 20-36 for UDF, while CVoter predicted LDF 71-77 seats and UDF 62-68. Republic-CNX predicted 72-80 seats for the LDF and 58-64 seats for the UDF, and News24-Chanakya Today predicted 102 seats for the LDF. While the ranges varied, all pollsters gave the LDP victory.

The results were largely in line with expectations in 2021, with the LDF getting 99 seats in the 140-seat assembly and the United Democratic Front 41.
