The death of three people, including a woman, inside a car parked near the Peragari flyover in outer Delhi has drawn the attention of a self-styled godman.

Who is Kamruddin?Accused Kamruddin is a resident of Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh. He runs a so-called ‘Tantric Centre’ at Loni in Ghaziabad. During the investigation into the car deaths, the police discovered that the self-proclaimed godman had promised ‘surprise money’ or ‘riches’ to the three dead through ‘tantric rituals’.

The accused is a habitual offender, and has been involved in criminal cases in the past. Kamruddin used to lure victims on the pretext of Dhanvarsh. He would acquire their victims, influence them mentally and then poison their laddus to kill them and rob them of their cash and valuables, police said.

Deputy Police Commissioner Sachin Sharma said the accused killed the three as part of a well-planned conspiracy for financial gain.

How the investigation led to the ‘father’The deaths initially appeared to be suicides, with no visible external injuries or signs of struggle. Police found a plastic bottle and some glasses with traces of poison, creating a mystery.

Further investigation, however, Revelation led The three who visited Loni a day before the incident and again visited the place on the day of their death. The police also learned that they were in constant contact with Kamruddin, who was with them in the car while returning from Loni. But the accused left the car near Peragrahi flyover.

“During inspection of the vehicle, liquor bottles, cold drink bottles, empty glasses, mobile phones, cash, helmets, jackets, Aadhaar cards, personal belongings and other documents were recovered,” the police said in a statement.

After questioning Kamruddin, it is revealed that Kamruddin was introduced to the dead woman Lakshmi by a man named Salim, a resident of Jangirpuri. He, in turn, introduced two other victims, Naresh and Randhir, to ‘Baba’.
