Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Wednesday inaugurated the AI-enabled e-ICU command center at Yashoda Medicity Hospital, a hospital in Ghaziabad in Delhi-NCR.

Inaugurated in the presence of senior leaders and medical professionals of the hospital, the command center connects the primary command center at Yashoda Medical City with the ICU at MMG District Hospital.
The AI-powered monitoring systems at MMG District Hospital analyze patient data in real-time and generate early alerts of clinical deterioration, according to a statement.
The AI-powered E-ICU platform is also able to streamline large amounts of patient data into a unified dashboard for central oversight. This is done through integration with hospital information systems with bedside patient monitoring devices.
According to a statement from the hospital, this will “enable structured remote supervision, proactive clinical coordination, and protocol-based care management,” ultimately ensuring better intensive care.
The union health minister said the platform “will provide continuous expert supervision and remote guidance to improve outcomes for critically ill patients.”
The new project will also help doctors make faster, evidence-based decisions while improving resource utilization and lowering the cost of care. The specific AI engine base also supports risk stratification and intelligent alert escalation.
The command center at Yashoda Medicity will have a team of critical care doctors, who will be available 24/7 and will help in timely interventions for better treatment.
Overall, the e-ICU Command Center aims to help improve the clinical outcomes of critically ill patients, while providing access to affordable and intensive care to the economically weaker sections of the society, according to a statement issued by Yashoda Medicity. Dr B N Arora, Chairman and Managing Director, Yashoda Hospitals Group, said the initiative aims to “expand the scope of intensive care beyond the walls of our hospitals”.
