Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishor recently announced that he has moved from his place in Patna to live in the Bihar Navnirman Ashram on the outskirts of the city. He is expected to continue managing the party’s political activity from there until it gains a good standing in the upcoming House of Representatives elections.

The 48-year-old political strategist-turned-politician told reporters in Darbhanga on Wednesday that he moved from his current home in Patna on Tuesday night.
“I moved last night from the place where I was living in Patna. The Bihar Navnirman Ashram, located near IIT-Patna, will be my residence until the next Assembly elections when Jan Suraj’s party will make an impact, we hope.” Till now, the party was being run from a large bungalow called Sheikhupura House near Patna airport owned by party national president and former BJP MP Uday Singh.
On Nitish Kumar, The West Asian Crisis and Government Extravagance
Kishor, the former JD(U) vice-president, attacked former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his decision to step down from the post to ensure nomination to the Rajya Sabha. “The person who was elected prime minister after the elections was unable to stop the migration caused by economic hardship. Instead, he chose to migrate himself, but not before ensuring that his son had a foothold,” he said. Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar recently joined the BJP-led government headed by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary.
He also referred to the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the Assembly elections which awarded 10,000 votes. $Each has 1.5 crore women. “The people of Bihar should think about the future of their children while casting their votes,” Kishor said. “They should not be influenced by leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nitish Kumar or Lalu Prasad, nor should they sell their votes for them.” $10,000.”
Speaking about the nationwide fuel shortage due to the ongoing US and Israeli attack on Iran, Kishore warned of rising fuel prices and fertilizer shortages in the near future. “People may witness an increase in petrol and diesel prices by up to $10 per litre. We may also face a major fertilizer crisis. Until now, farmers have complained about black marketing; “Now they may face complete unavailability,” he said. Petrol prices saw an additional rise of 90 piasters per liter on Tuesday (May 19) while diesel prices rose by 87 piasters, according to ANI.
His latest jab was directed at CM Chaudhary for his alleged extravagance despite Bihar being one of the poorest states in the country. “Bihar is the poorest state in the country, but its chief minister lives in a 25-acre residence,” he pointed out. “Imagine the expenditure on maintaining his gardens. Now we hear that Chaudhry is planning to expand the complex further by merging the house he was occupying as Deputy Prime Minister with the Prime Minister’s Residence.”
The I-PAC co-founder formed the Jan Suraj Party in 2024. He belongs to a prominent political family where his elder brother NK Singh was a former Rajya Sabha MP and former Chairman of the 15th Finance Commission and his mother late Madhuri Singh was a senior Congress leader and a multi-term MP from Purnia.
