LUCKNOW: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Monday said efforts should be intensified for ‘ghar wapsi’ (return to Hinduism) and added that those returning to the Hindu community should be ‘supported’ and ‘looked after’.Addressing a social harmony meeting, Bhagwat said the Hindu community was required to become more organised, stressing that although there was no “threat” to the community, it had to remain “vigilant”. The event was attended by representatives from various religious and social organisations, including the Sikh, Buddhist and Jain communities, as well as groups such as Ramakrishna Mission, ISKCON and Art of Living.Bhagwat expressed concern about what he described as a decline in the Hindu population, which highlights cases of forced or inducement-based religious conversion. He said that Hindu families should have at least three children. Bhagwat stressed the need to promote social harmony, and said that discrimination arises when harmony is absent.
