IndiGo on Tuesday evening issued a travel advisory announcing that the carrier will resume flights for passengers stranded on a few routes to Gulf countries amid the ongoing US-Iran conflict.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), IndiGo posted a note stating that its “operations are being resumed in line with prevailing airspace conditions.” Indigo will currently operate in Athens, Muscat, Jeddah and Medina.
The Indian airline will operate 10 special flights from Jeddah to India on Tuesday, according to a report published by Reuters.
IndiGo issues travel advisories
The airlines said they were restarting selected flights as part of a “carefully planned restoration process.” The statement read: “Travel Advisory. We understand how the ongoing situation has impacted travel plans, especially when they include returning home or being with loved ones. Please know that we stand with you during this time and will do everything we can to support you with care, wisdom and responsibility.”
“We are gradually reinstating selected flights as part of a carefully planned restoration of our schedule, with safety as our top priority and careful consideration of the evolving situation. Operations are resuming in line with prevailing airspace conditions, with all necessary approvals already in place. If you are scheduled to travel, we ask that you await confirmation from us before proceeding to the airport,” she added.
Indigo will fly only on these routes for now
IndiGo wrote: “Details of the routes being gradually restored, based on evolving airspace conditions, are as follows: #Athens, #Muscat, #Jeddah, #Medina. And more repatriation flights in the UAE, based on time slots and clearances. While we are steadily restoring our operational schedule, our teams remain focused on assisting customers who were impacted earlier.”
The memo concluded by saying: “We will continue to communicate with them directly and keep them informed through their registered contact details. The safety of our customers and crew comes first. We thank you for your continued understanding. Your trust strengthens our resolve to serve you better.”
Does IndiGo operate on Tuesday?
According to news agency PTI, IndiGo on Tuesday operated four return flights to Jeddah and plans to operate another flight to Muscat later to bring back passengers stranded due to the conflict. IndiGo had suspended its flights to the Middle East and Europe due to the ongoing situation. The airline will operate a total of 26 flights to and from these four destinations.
All about the US-Iranian conflict and world travel
Global air travel remains severely disrupted after the war in Iran shut down major hubs in the Middle East, including Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi, stranding tens of thousands of passengers around the world and disrupting thousands of flights. Passengers have been advised to check the latest flight status directly with their airlines before heading to the airport and to rely only on official sources for updates.
This came amid coordinated US and Israeli air strikes across multiple Iranian cities on February 28, targeting military command centres, air defense systems, missile sites and key regime infrastructure. These strikes resulted in the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and four senior military and security officials, with major explosions occurring in Tehran and other major cities.
In response, Iran responded by launching ballistic missiles and drones at US and allied assets across the region, including Israel, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan, expanding the conflict in the Middle East.
