IndiGo CEO Peter Elbers resigned on Tuesday, March 10, three months after the airline’s major aviation crisis hit millions of passengers across the country in December last year.

Announcing Elbers’ resignation, IndiGo said in a statement that the airline’s managing director, Rahul Bhatia, will take over the management of affairs until a new leader is appointed, “which is expected in a short time.”
In Elbers’ resignation letter, he asked to waive his notice period and said he would be available for any handover or transfer if necessary. However, the duration of the notice period has not been confirmed.
