A 25-year-old student from Telangana, who had gone to the UK for higher studies last year, was found dead in his room in London on June 23.

His family, from Talamadla village in Tadvai mandal in Telangana’s Kamareddy district, are searching for answers about the circumstances surrounding his death.

S Srinath Reddy had gone to London for higher studies 14 months ago. His father, Madhusudan Reddy, expressed his deep sorrow and said that the family has not yet received full details about how their son died. They expressed their suffering over the sudden death of their son while he was pursuing his education abroad.

The family appealed to the Central and Telangana governments to intervene and help return the body to his hometown as soon as possible. They also asked governments to coordinate with British authorities to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his death and provide assistance to the family.

Last call

According to the family, the deceased had attended a friend’s birthday party in London on the night of June 22. Srinath’s father stated that he spoke to the family on the phone the same night and seemed normal and cheerful during the conversation. The family said they had no indication anything was wrong.

A family relative, whose son also lives in London, said his roommate found him dead on the morning of June 23. According to the roommate, the student allegedly died by hanging.

The relative also claimed that his roommate did not inform his other friends about the incident immediately. The father says that this delay raised several questions and doubts about the circumstances of his son’s death.

London Police registered a case and are investigating the incident. The student’s sudden death cast a shadow of grief over his family and the residents of Talamadla village.
