Dedicated to Nari Shakti Vandhan.”

Prime Minister Modi described it as a step that will transform the vision of the past into reality and make social justice an essential part of governance and decision-making.

“This resolution is dedicated to the power of women. It is dedicated to revering the power of women. Our Parliament is on the verge of creating a new history. A new history that will recognize the notions of the past. A history that will inform the decisions of the future. A resolution for an egalitarian India, where social justice is not just a slogan, but a natural part of our working culture, our decision-making process. The time has come to end decades of waiting. From the state assemblies to the nation’s parliament are April 16, 17 and 18.”

Prime Minister Modi said: “Our country’s Parliament is on the verge of creating a new history. A new history that will fulfill the visions of the past, and realize the decisions of the future. A determination to achieve an equal India, where social justice is not just a slogan, but a natural part of our work culture, and our decision-making process.”

He said that India is about to take one of the most important decisions of the 21st century, describing it as a historic step dedicated to women’s empowerment and a long-awaited measure that has been supported by political parties for decades.

He said, “Amidst these critical milestones in our country’s development journey, India stands on the brink of taking one of the most important decisions of the 21st century. I say with great responsibility that this decision will be among the most important decisions of our time. It is a decision dedicated to the empowerment of women, and it is a true tribute to the power and reverence of femininity.”

“The need to provide reservations for women in democratic structures has been felt by everyone for decades. This discourse has been going on for almost 4 decades. It involves the efforts of all parties and many generations. Each party has presented this idea in its own way,” Prime Minister Modi said.

He said that there is a unanimous demand to implement the Women’s Empowerment Law by 2029, adding that Parliament will hold a comprehensive discussion on the issue starting April 16, expressing his hope that all parties will work together to move the initiative forward in favor of women’s empowerment.

“There was also a consensus that it (Women Empowerment Act) should be implemented by 2029 at all costs… We are keeping the deadline in mind in 2029, and a comprehensive discussion on this will be held in Parliament from April 16. It is our endeavor and desire that this work should be done with cooperation and mutual participation, this time too… With the collective efforts of all, the dignity of the entire Assembly will reach new heights. Every woman of the country will also be happy that every party has transcended politics and taken up this important task for its own sake,” he said.

‘Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan’ is being organized at national level to support the proposed amendment to activate Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, 2023, at Vigyan Bhawan.
