India and Germany on Wednesday signed a defense industrial cooperation roadmap to promote joint development and joint production of weapons and systems and strengthen bilateral military ties, during talks between Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and his German counterpart Boris Pistorius in Berlin.

The Indian Ministry of Defense said: “The two Ministers discussed a range of bilateral security and defense issues, including priority areas for joint development and joint production of defense equipment, especially in the area of specialized technologies. They also reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening military cooperation as a fundamental pillar of the strategic partnership.”
Singh arrived in Berlin on Tuesday on a three-day visit aimed at strengthening bilateral military ties between India and Germany, with a focus on enhancing defense industrial cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, an “executive arrangement for cooperation in the field of training for United Nations peacekeeping operations” was also signed between the two leaders. Singh described his visit as a “symbol of deep friendship, togetherness and trust.”
