In response to Syria’s allegations, Kharge, without naming the MP, referred to him as a “serial misinformation MP” and described his claims as “half-truths and feigned anger”.

The event Surya referred to was the Congress’s mega convention at the Palace Grounds in the state capital Bengaluru, which was organized in conjunction with PK Hariprasad taking over as the party’s new state president.

Fortunately, the examination authorities accommodated them and provided them with compensatory time, he said.

Surya claimed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had been shedding “crocodile tears” over students and exams for weeks.

“If his fears were real, his party would have avoided holding a huge political rally in the heart of the city in time for one of India’s most important entrance exams,” the South Bengaluru MP said.

“Students deserve sensitivity, not political theatrics. Caring for students cannot be a slogan in Delhi and a nuisance in Bengaluru,” he added.

Priyank Karg replied

Responding to Tejasvi Surya, Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Karg, without naming the MP, said: “As usual, the serial MP spreading misinformation is doing what he does best: spreading half-truths and feigned anger.”

Kharge said that a total of 720 students have been allocated to RC College as NEET examination centre. Of these, 142. Three students missed the exam. One of the students, coming from Magadi, was unable to board the bus on time and arrived at the center late, which led to her missing the exam, he said in a post on the X website.

“Another candidate arrived with an old hall ticket for the examination conducted on May 3, and hence he was not allowed to write the examination,” the Home Minister added.

According to Karji, only one candidate who was traveling from RT Nagar side missed the exam, and the exact reason is still to be ascertained.

“Bengaluru Traffic Police issued public notices and traffic warnings early,” he noted.

Karg said the BJP MP, who is “overflowing with concern” over students skipping exams for various reasons, was conveniently silent when his “incompetent government” allowed over 22 lakh students to suffer due to mismanagement of NEET, paper leaks and chaos, with over 10 students reportedly dying due to suicide.

“As per BJP’s logic, if the Congress caucus that skipped the exam today is to be blamed, then Modi (Prime Minister) and Dharmendra Pradhan (Union Minister) should be held directly responsible for the paper leaks, plight and deaths of students and should be removed from office,” he said.

He added: “Unfortunately for the MP’s empty box, there are no emergency exits here for him to open and escape after he made baseless allegations.”
