Former Bihar Minister Tej Pratap Yadav on Saturday urged Cokruch Janta Party founder Abhijit Debke to visit the state and help oust the BJP-led government headed by Samrat Chaudhary.
Yadav, who floated the Janshakti Janata Dal after he was expelled by his father Lalu Prasad’s RJD, made the appeal on social media, soon after the CJP called off its protest in Delhi after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned over alleged leak of NEET papers.
“I, Tej Pratap Yadav, make this special appeal to Abhijit Debke, founder of the Kokrukh Janata Party, to come immediately to the land of Bihar,” said the mercurial leader, who, incidentally, ended up being detained by the police earlier in the day for supporting a movement called by Left student unions.
Yadav expressed concern about the “current political situation” in the state to stress the need for a “strong and powerful people’s movement” that can “uproot and bring down the government of Samrat Chaudhary”.
Yadav, who tagged the CJP, Chaudhary and the BJP’s Bihar unit in the post, also promised “full and unwavering support to Janshakti Janata Dal… in this fight for change”.
Meanwhile, a video has gone viral showing Debki telling an attendee at the Jantar Mantar protests that he intends to visit Patna, which earlier this week witnessed a ferocious agitation by students who took to the streets in support of the CJP’s agitation.
In the short video, a young woman can be seen asking Debaki to visit Bihar, where “uneducated Prime Minister Samrat Chaudhary is destroying the education system.”
In response, Debki said: “I assure you that once we end the ongoing protests, the next event of the Janata Party will be held in Patna.”
