Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokespersons Ashutosh Ranka and Sourav Das met union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh on Friday, as part of the second high-level meeting with the Center amid the ongoing student protests in Delhi. After the meeting, Ranka told the media that the government had agreed “in principle” to two demands and was seeking time till tomorrow to respond to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation demand.

“Dharmendra Pradhan needs to resign or else he should be sacked. We have spoken to the government in detail about this matter. The government has sought time till tomorrow afternoon to respond to this request,” Ranka told reporters, warning that delay in sacking Pradhan would only increase the scale of the protest.
On the other hand, JP Nadda said that the meeting with the PJD lasted two hours, during which three demands and five examination reform proposals were discussed. “We told them that we will meet them again tomorrow afternoon and tell them about the discussion we had between the government,” Neda said, according to what the news agency reported. that I.

CJP’s Ashutosh Ranka also said that during the meeting, the government agreed “in principle” to two demands of the CJP – compensation to the families of NEET aspirants who died due to suicide, and not to take any legal action against the protesting students.
Ranka said the CJP hopes that the government will sack Pradhan soon. He also said that another meeting with the center is scheduled for Saturday, July 25.
Not only the CJP, climate activist Sonam Wangchuk also demanded Pradhan’s resignation and assurances from the government that no legal action will be taken against the students involved in the recent clash with the police on July 20, the day the CJP called the “Sansad Chalo” rally.
Wangchuk, who ended his 26-day hunger strike after midnight today, said the government assured him in writing that the families of students who died by suicide due to NEET paper leaks would be compensated.
He also said that the government said in a written statement that it was “positive about not registering cases against those who are peacefully protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and those who participated in the march to Parliament on July 20.”
Debaki warning of arrests today
Meanwhile, CJP founder Abhijit Debaki said he had received information that the government would try to “detain or arrest” protesters tonight. He said a much larger crowd was expected to join over the weekend, and said more police action would only ensure the protest expands.
