Pathanamthitta, a gangster and his accomplice have been arrested here in Tiruvalla on charges of sexually assaulting a spa employee for refusing to pay, police said on Friday.

Tiruvalla police said Alexander and his gang members threatened spa owners and employees, demanded money. As they refused to comply, Alexander and five of his accomplices allegedly arrived at Spa on 1 February.
Police said one of the accused allegedly threatened a female employee with a knife, took her to a room and sexually assaulted her. Gang members allegedly abused other employees at the spa and took money from the office, police said.
After filing a case, Alexander and his accomplices went into hiding.
On Thursday, acting on a tip-off, a police team led by the Thiruvalla sub-superintendent of police tracked down Alexander at Kuttapuja and arrested him.
Jiju TR, Deputy DP, Thiruvalla, told PTI that there are six accused in the case and two have been arrested so far.
“The search is on for the remaining four accused, and they will be traced soon. A detailed investigation is underway, and we have recovered some important evidence,” he said.
CCTV visuals showed the gang abusing the spa staff on television channels.
Kerala Health Minister Veena George, who hails from the district, said she was shocked after learning of the incident.
“Strict action should be taken against such criminals. The scenes are shocking. Such incidents should not happen again,” he told reporters.
