It also asked them to combine technology, human sensitivity and rational judgment while adopting modern systems.

“India’s transformation into a developed nation will only make sense when the benefits reach the most vulnerable and disadvantaged. You must make tireless efforts to ensure that no community is left behind for geographical, social or economic reasons,” Murmu said.

The President was addressing the officers of the Indian Administrative Service who were recruited from the state civil service and attending the 128th training program at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration. These officers had summoned Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here.

“You now bear responsibilities that go far beyond the priorities of the region or state. These larger responsibilities require a perspective that transcends departmental boundaries and breaks down administrative silos. By working collaboratively, you can enhance institutional cohesion and strengthen the governance mechanism,” the President said.

She said their collective professionalism, coordination and commitment are essential to driving development results and maintaining the highest standards of public service.

Technology and innovation are changing governance at an unprecedented speed, Murmu said.

“I urge you to fully embrace AI-driven solutions, e-administration platforms, digital grievance mechanisms and real-time analytics. These tools can streamline administrative systems and ensure more efficient service delivery to the last mile.

She added: “But as you adopt modern systems, remember that technology must be coupled with human sensitivity and rational judgment.”

President Murmu said another important area that requires commitment is sustainability and resilience to climate change.

“As senior administrators, you must support green practices, promote climate-resilient governance, and ensure sustainable development. Our collective actions today will determine the quality of life of future generations,” she said.

Murmu said India’s transformation into a developed country will only make sense when the benefits reach the most vulnerable and deprived groups.

“You must make tireless efforts to ensure that no society is left behind for geographical, social or economic reasons,” she said, adding that the “nation first” spirit must be the guiding compass in facing the most complex challenges.

The President asked them to carry out their duties with unwavering integrity, complete transparency and an unwavering sense of accountability.

“These are the principles that define true public service and uphold the trust that the nation places in you,” Murmu added. “You must always exercise power with compassion and fairness.”
