DMRC Metro services will start early on selected lines for preliminary civil services examination on Sunday

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Thursday said that metro services on select corridors will start at 6 am on Sunday to facilitate candidates appearing for the civil services (preliminary) examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

According to DMRC, train services from the terminal stations on Line 7 (Pink Line), Line 8 (Purple Line) and Line 9 (Gray Line) will start one hour earlier than the regular Sunday schedule on May 24.

The Pink Line connects Maglis Park and Shiv Vihar while the Magenta Line runs between Krishna Park Extension and Botanical Garden, and between Deepali Chowk and Majlis Park. She added that the gray line runs between Dhansa and Dwarka bus stand.

Metro services on these three lines generally start at 7 a.m. on Sundays. However, in view of the UPSC preliminary inspection, services will start at 6 am with trains running at a frequency of 15 minutes till 7 am. After that, regular schedule services will resume on Sunday, the DMRC said.

The corporation said that arrangements have been made to ensure smooth travel of candidates so that they can reach their examination centers on time without any inconvenience.

She added that services on all other metro lines will continue to operate according to the usual Sunday schedule from 6am onwards.
