Dayalu Ammal, mother of DMK chief MK Stalin, has been admitted to a Chennai hospital after her health condition deteriorated.

Dayalu Ammal, wife of late former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and mother of DMK chief MK Stalin, was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai on Tuesday after her health suddenly deteriorated.

Amal has been dealing with age-related health issues for the past few years and has been under constant medical supervision at her residence in Gopalapuram.

Hospital sources told news agency PTI that she was transferred to the private medical facility after her condition deteriorated. She received immediate medical care upon arrival and is currently being monitored by a dedicated team of doctors. The sources said that her condition is stable.

Stalin arrives at the hospital

After being informed of his mother’s health, MK Stalin immediately arrived at the hospital along with other family members.

The DMK president also held detailed discussions with senior doctors supervising Dayalu Amal’s treatment to understand her medical condition and the care provided.

Visiting family members

Opposition leader Udhyanidhi Stalin was among the family members who visited the hospital to inquire about Diallo Amal’s health.

Several other family members also arrived at the hospital after her admission.

In 2015, Diallo Amal was among 19 people named in the Enforcement Directorate’s money laundering case linked to the alleged operation. $Transfer of 200 Crores to Kalaignar TV. The agency alleged that the money was indirectly channeled by the promoters of Swan Telecom Pvt Ltd (STPL).

During the trial, her doctor informed the special CBI court that she had been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other age-related diseases for several years, which made it difficult for her to participate in the proceedings.
