The Indian Supreme Court on Wednesday criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over her objection to the ED raid on the home of Pratik Jain, co-founder of I-PAC, in January.

The ED raid, which was conducted in January over money laundering allegations, became a political flashpoint after Banerjee barged into Jain's house while the raid was ongoing. (PTI)

“This in itself is an action by an individual who happens to be the Prime Minister who has used the entire system to endanger democracy,” the Supreme Court told Banerjee after stating that the chief minister of any state cannot storm the building in the midst of an investigation.

The ED raid, which was conducted in January over money laundering allegations, became a political flashpoint after Banerjee barged into Jain’s house during the raid. The central agency claimed that the TMC leader removed key evidence from the site.
