The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for all districts of Delhi on Tuesday afternoon, forecasting light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning.

The orange alert was in effect until 5:20 pm, according to the real-time bulletin on the IMD Delhi website. Light to moderate rain with gusty winds of up to 60 kilometers per hour is expected in Delhi.

Orange alert in Delhi

An orange alert has been put in place in the national capital till 5:20 pm on Tuesday, according to the nowcast shown on Delhi’s IMD website.

The Meteorological Authority expected light to moderate rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by active winds reaching speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour.

It is worth noting that the Western Disturbance over northern Iran and the Caspian Sea region, along with active cyclonic circulations over northwestern Rajasthan, is influencing the weather over northern India over the past few days, according to the IMD.

Another western disturbance is expected on April 2, with very light rain likely in the national capital on April 3 and 4, as mentioned in an earlier HT report.
