The Indian Meteorological Department on Tuesday expected the weather to be generally cloudy with light to light intermittent rain in many places, with moderate rain in some places. This comes after the national capital witnessed rain showers in the morning.
Moreover, the meteorological agency also forecast strong lateral surface winds of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour, gusting to 40 kilometers per hour during the afternoon to evening period, and “one or two spells of light to light rain at night.”
According to the latest forecast issued by the Meteorological Agency, Delhi is expected to witness “generally cloudy skies with moderate rain” on Wednesday.

Today, Thursday, the General Meteorological Authority expected moderate rain or drizzle with generally cloudy skies on Friday.
Meanwhile, the IMD has not issued any warnings for Saturday or Sunday, and skies are currently expected to be generally cloudy on both days at present.

Till 8:30 am, Safdarjung recorded 10.6 mm of cumulative rainfall, Ridge 18.6 mm, Ayanagar 17.4 mm, Palam 15 mm and Lodhi Road 12.2 mm, according to news agency PTI.
Meanwhile, overnight rains also helped improve the air quality in Delhi, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 88 at 9 am, putting it in the ‘satisfactory’ category.

Jammu weather update
Heavy rains lashed large parts of Jammu region on Tuesday, prompting authorities to maintain high alert, PTI reported, citing officials.
At least 23 people have died while seven others are missing in rain-related incidents in Poonch, Rajouri and Doda districts since Sunday, it added.
Meanwhile, all major pilgrimages, including Amarnath Yatra, Vaishno Devi Yatra, Shiv Khuri Yatra and Machil Mata Yatra, remained suspended for the third consecutive day due to incessant rains, landslides and threat of flash floods. It advised pilgrims to remain in designated shelters until weather conditions improve and the roads are declared safe.

Moreover, with moderate to heavy rainfall expected to continue until July 23, authorities have urged people to exercise extreme caution, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay away from water bodies and landslide-prone areas.
