The Vishnu Deo Sai-led government in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday presented the annual budget of $1.72 lakh crore for the financial year 2026-27, with a focus on capital expenditure and digital-first agricultural and industrial policy.

State Finance Minister OP Chaudhary, who presented the budget, said the annual budget focuses on inclusive growth, accelerating infrastructure and promoting investment.
As part of the budget, the state government will launch the Rani Durgavati scheme, under which girls will get… $1.5 lakh on attaining 18 years.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai hailed the budget as a statement of intent for the future of the state.
“The FY 2026-27 Budget is a statement of intent for the future of Chhattisgarh and a foundational step towards our vision of FIXIT Chhattisgarh 2047. Through record investments in agriculture, infrastructure, women empowerment and industrial expansion, we are building the structural strength required to achieve sustainable double-digit growth,” he said.
“Our focus is firmly on inclusive development – to ensure that Bastar, Surguja and every village in the state actively participate in and benefit from this transformation,” he added.
Chhattisgarh Budget Highlights
The state budget places a strong emphasis on the social sector, which represents 40 percent of total spending.
While 36% was allocated to enhancing economic activities and 24% to administrative and public services.
The state also announced two “education cities” in Abu Jumada and Jagargunda, which were considered Naxal strongholds in the Bastar region, with an allocation for… $100 Crores. The state also proposed a 50 percent exemption from registration fees for women when purchasing immovable property.
Customize $Rs 50 crore has also been allocated for opening new medical colleges in Konkori, Manendragarh and Dantewada. As allocated by the state $Rs 10 crore for Bastar and Surguja Olympics to promote sports and culture.
