A shooting occurred outside a club in Panchkula, Haryana, on Thursday, leaving two people injured. A CCTV video has emerged showing the shooting in Sector 5, capturing moments of the late-night attack.

Two of the accused in the incident were later arrested after a police chase and encounter near Ramgarh. The two suspects were shot in the legs during an exchange of gunfire with the police.

The footage shows a man walking towards a car and talking to another person. Moments later, several gunshots were heard, sparking panic as people rushed to safety and fled the scene.

What happened at one o’clock in the morning?

Police sources told HT that the incident took place around 1 am when Ratan Lobanna, a relative of a local BJP leader, was coming out of a club in Sector 5.

The attackers, who were allegedly waiting outside, shot him. Eyewitnesses said that between 10 and 12 shots were fired at the site. The victims tried to flee, but the attackers continued shooting.

Ratan Lobana was injured by a gunshot to the stomach, while another person was injured by a gunshot to the shoulder. The two injured men were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Sector 6 and were later referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh, after initial treatment.

Following the incident, the police control room alerted all crime branch units in the area.

Police teams immediately chased the suspects, who fled on a motorcycle. The chase continued until Ramgarh area, where police tried to intercept them.

Ratan Lobana, a resident of Mansa Devi Complex, is said to be one of the stakeholders of a club located in Sector 5. He is also close to one of the Panchkula local councillors.

The Panchkula Police is expected to hold a press conference on the issue soon.

The accused opened fire despite the warnings

Sources told HT that despite repeated warnings to stop, the accused allegedly opened fire on Crime Branch teams. In the ensuing shootout, the two suspects were shot in the leg before being overpowered and arrested.

According to preliminary information, the arrested accused have been identified as Harpreet (18), a resident of Hoshiarpur in Punjab, and Jaswinder, a resident of Jagraon in Punjab. Both of them were taken to hospital for treatment and are currently under police guard.

Sources also claimed that the shooters are suspected to be linked to the gang of notorious gangster Rohit Godara. However, police have not officially confirmed any gang affiliation yet.
