While the police are yet to make an arrest in the Kanpur Lamborghini accident, fresh claims have emerged about who was behind the wheel. On Sunday, at least three people were injured when a speeding Lamborghini crashed into them.

(HT Photo)According to the police, the luxury car is allegedly owned by the driver Shivam MishraSon of tobacconist KK Mishra. However, Mishra’s lawyer has now claimed that Shivam was not behind the wheel, but a hired driver.
“Shivam was not driving. His health is fragile. An application has been filed in the court and all proceedings will follow legal process. The matter will be heard on Tuesday,” said Mritynjoy Singh.
Police officials also claimed it was mixed behind the wheel. Several eyewitnesses saw Mishra being dragged out of the car by private bouncers after the accident.
The police claimed that Mishra was in a drunken state, as did his family Shivam had a seizure behind the wheel, Causing accidents.
Among the new claims, an official told HT that Mishra will undergo a medical examination to check if epilepsy or any other medical condition could have contributed to the accident.
“If the tests show that he was medically unfit to drive, we will examine how he got the driving licence,” said police commissioner Raghubir Lal, adding that the role of regional transport office staff would also be looked into.

In a video seen by HT, a bouncer is seen pulling Mishra out of the Lamborghini Revuelto. Bouncers are seen taking him away while locals are heard saying in the background, “Keep making videos.” Due to the graphic nature of the video, it has not been shared for publication.
Witnesses said they gathered around the car after the accident and stopped the bouncers from taking Mishra away. The 26-year-old was taken to a hospital.
3 injured, no arrestsMore than 24 hours have passed since the incident, and police have yet to make an arrest in the Lamborghini crash. However, a station house officer (SHO) has reportedly been removed for allegedly trying to protect Shivam Mishra.
The speeding Lamborghini injured three people – autorickshaw driver Tausif Ahmed, and two motorcyclists – Vishal and Sonu Tripathi.
