The autopsy report of a 24-year-old woman, whose family claimed she was killed over her demand for dowry in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida district, has made shocking findings about the circumstances surrounding the death that reportedly occurred on Sunday night.

The woman died on Sunday night after falling from the balcony of her three-storey matrimonial home in Jalpura village in Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.
“Brain hemorrhage”: horrific autopsy findings
The woman’s autopsy reportedly revealed “brain bleeding,” ruptured internal organs, and multiple bruises on her body. Visceral samples were also preserved for forensic analysis.
According to the autopsy results, bleeding was found from the victim’s left nostril and mouth, news agency PTI reported. The report stated that there was a hematoma in the middle and left side of the brain.
The report also indicated a rupture of the liver, spleen, and right kidney, in addition to bruises in the arm and thigh.
The entrails were preserved to ensure the presence of any toxic substance, according to the report.
Earlier on Tuesday, police at Ekotek-3 police station said the exact cause of death was still unclear and doctors had not yet given a final opinion.
Allegations made by the woman’s family
However, the woman’s family claimed that she was killed by her in-laws over her demand for dowry and maintained that it was neither a suicide nor an accident.
The police have arrested her husband and father-in-law, while efforts are on to arrest the remaining accused named in the FIR registered under the provisions related to dowry death.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Shailendra Kumar Singh had earlier said that the case was registered based on a complaint filed by the woman’s father.
According to the complaint, the woman called her father on Sunday afternoon while crying and told him that her in-laws had assaulted her because of their demand for dowry.
The family alleged that the in-laws were demanding a Toyota Fortuner SUV and an additional car $45-50 thousand in cash.
Her father claimed that he and some of her relatives visited the marital home at around 7pm on Sunday in an attempt to resolve the dispute.
He claimed that at around 12:30 am, the family received a call from her in-laws informing them that she had suffered a fall and asking them to reach Sharda Hospital.
“When I arrived at the hospital, I found my daughter dead,” the father said earlier, claiming that her body bore multiple injury marks and what appeared to be wounds caused by a screwdriver.
“I killed my daughter because of dowry,” he was quoted as saying by the PTI news agency. He also claimed that there were inconsistencies in the accounts given by the in-laws regarding the incident.
He added: “I asked them where she fell, and her in-laws answered from the stairs, and then they said from the roof.”
The woman’s family claimed on Monday that while her in-laws claimed she died after falling from the balcony, the nature of the injuries on her body did not appear consistent with a fall.
The family claimed that instead of injuries normally associated with falling from a height, there were marks on her body indicating assault.
Her father claimed on Monday that his daughter’s body bore marks that appeared to have been caused by a screwdriver.
The woman’s aunt reportedly claimed she was thrown out of the building and then stabbed or shot when she survived the fall.
The family also alleged that she was subjected to psychological and physical harassment within a few months of her marriage in December 2024.
Police said that videography has been conducted for the post-mortem examination and additional departments will be called depending on the investigation results and forensic reports.
