The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday claimed that a silicone mask was used to shoot the alleged video that put Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in his place.

In a social media post, AAP claimed a person wearing a silicone mask looked like… Bhagwant Mann shot the video to defame Punjab Chief Minister. The party also shared a video that allegedly shows mask lines and different skin tones.
“The whole match of Akali, BJP and Congress against CM Bhagwant has been revealed. This is the same Akali Dal man who shot a fake video of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Mann in a hotel, while wearing a silicone mask. Watch the video carefully, how Sukhbir Badal’s man is acting like Sardar Bhagwant Mann ji and carrying out a conspiracy to defame him,” the Hindi post on X said.
Punjab’s ruling party also shared another video in which a man, identified by Mann on Thursday as a Canadian resident, Jagman Samra, is seen holding a mask resembling the prime minister’s face in his hand and saying, “You’re putting on a face” in Punjabi.
“This is the video of the person who made the fake video of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Man Ji. The conspiracy of ED Party and Akali Dal Badal family to defame Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Man Ji has been exposed. In the video, it can be clearly seen that someone is holding Sardar Bhagwant Man Ji’s mask in his hand and is planning to defame him,” AAP wrote while sharing the video.

A political row has erupted over an objectionable video allegedly made by the Akal Takht, the apex interim Sikh body, He issued an edict against Bhagwant Man on 15 June.
The matter stems from Mann being summoned by the Akal Takht in January this year for allegedly making comments on the “Guru ki Golak” (gurdwara donation box) and indulging in “objectionable activities” with images of Sikh gurus and slain militant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in an alleged video.
The order came after Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj claimed that the video, which allegedly shows a man resembling Mann, It was found to be “authentic” by two forensic laboratories. Subsequently, AAP submitted a forensic report claiming that the man seen in the video is not the Punjab chief. But it sparked another controversy.

Bhagwant Man’s defence
Bhagwant Mann and AAP have maintained that the man seen in the alleged video disrespecting Sikh teachers is not the leader of Punjab, while the opposition is in the state and even now at the national level. He demanded his resignation due to the dispute.
Facing mounting criticism, Mann confirmed on Thursday that he was not in that video and claimed that the person in the objectionable clip was wearing a mask that resembled his face. He claimed that the video was filmed in a hotel room in Abbotsford, Canada.
The CM said he has not visited Canada since 2016, adding that the alleged objectionable video was shot after 2017-18.
“Who installs pictures of Guru Sahib in hotels?” He asked.
Mann said: “Who gave him money to make this video? Who is the producer and director of this video? We will reveal it in the coming days.”
The Prime Minister said that he would share the new video with Akal Takht for examination.
