CM Adhikari will be the Minister responsible for Home and Hills Affairs, Land Reforms and Refugees, Relief and Rehabilitation, Energy, Information and Cultural Affairs, Personnel and Administrative Reforms, and other departments not allocated to other Ministers.

While Adhikari took oath as Prime Minister along with five other cabinet ministers on May 9, 35 other ministers took oath on June 1. There are now 19 ministers in the government, including Adhikari, three secretaries of state with independent mandates, and 19 secretaries of state.

Swapan Dasgupta, who defeated Rashbehari in Kolkata, has been appointed in charge of finance. BJP MLA from Bidhannagar, Shardwat Mukherjee, has been appointed as health minister. Nishith Pramanik, former Union Minister, has been appointed in-charge of North Bengal Development and Water Resources. Former state BJP president Dilip Ghosh has been given charge of panchayat, rural development and agricultural marketing. Agnimitra Paul was given Urban Development and Municipal Affairs.

Among the Ministers of State with independent responsibility, Indranil Khan has been appointed to the Departments of Youth Services, Sports and Consumer Affairs.
